Talent Acquisition & Operations Specialist
Darcy’s journey into recruiting began when she moved to Portland in 2015 and found herself sitting across a table from Tifhani while applying for an external role. They immediately hit it off and she was hired internally as a talent acquisition specialist. After learning the ropes from Tifhani and Arienne, Darcy spent the next 4 years in the Talent and Career Development department at Nike.
We’re thrilled to have her back on our OG team to source top tier talent for our awesome clients and day-to-day operational tasks that keep this well-oiled machine running.
What is something your clients have to deal with that you want to fix? Helping our clients foresee their needs so that they aren’t left feeling unprepared when hiring needs occur and so that we are better prepared to fully support them in every way possible.
What do you like about working at SHINE? We celebrate all the small wins. Our own, our clients, everyone’s. Big wins are important, but celebrating the small wins is what keeps us all so passionate and proud of the work we do.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is: If it’s not something that is going to affect your life in a year’s time, don’t let it be something you lose sleep over now.
What’s the most inspiring part of your job? Getting to witness the super exciting/energizing feeling of symbiosis taking place.
What’s your background? I grew up in the Bay Area, then headed down to Santa Cruz to attend UCSC (go Banana Slugs!). I worked in wedding event design through school and fell in love with the rush that comes with watching the exact moment someone’s dream comes true. Back then, it was helping to bring friends and families together to celebrate their loved one’s love for each other. Nowadays, that looks a little different – but I still get that warm fuzzy feeling from helping match make in the corporate world and make everyone’s world a little sweeter.
